The global photovoltaic power generation market has been out of the doldrums since 2012. In 2016, the global installed capacity of photovoltaics was 74.7GW, a year-on-year increase of 51.21%. In 2017, the global installed capacity of photovoltaics was 102GW, which still achieved a growth of 36.55% under the high base of 2016.
From the domestic market point of view, benefiting from the unexpected expectations of distributed installed capacity, China's photovoltaic installed capacity in 2017 is about 53GW, accounting for more than 50% of the global installed capacity of photovoltaics, which is a significant increase of 53.45% compared with the 34.5GW installed capacity in 2016.

From the perspective of subsidies, China's distributed subsidy standard will only drop by 0.05 yuan/KWh in 2018, and the component cost can be reduced to cover the loss of distributed power plant operation. Subsidies for distributed photovoltaic poverty alleviation stations and village-level poverty alleviation stations remain unchanged. It is expected that under the pull of photovoltaic poverty alleviation and distribution, China's photovoltaic installed capacity in 2018 is still guaranteed. With the continuous decline in the cost of photovoltaic power generation systems, photovoltaic power generation is expected to usher in the era of cheap Internet access around 2020, and China's photovoltaic installed capacity market is expected to achieve sustained and rapid development.

PV module and system cost continue to decline
From the perspective of foreign markets, the new market for photovoltaics in India reached 9GW in 2017, which has doubled the growth of new PV installations for three consecutive years. However, from the perspective of cumulative installed capacity, it is still only about 20GW, which is proposed by India. With the goal of accumulating 100 GW in 2022, there is still much room for development. This not only provides an effective export for China's PV production capacity, but also provides a positive signal for Chinese companies to deploy India early.

India's emerging markets have huge potential for photovoltaics
Under the current system cost, photovoltaic power generation in some emerging regions with better lighting conditions has surpassed traditional coal-fired power generation. With the advent of the era of affordable Internet access, global PV installations will continue to maintain rapid growth. Demand for photovoltaic silicon will be one of the main drivers driving industrial silicon consumption growth.
