Huai Jinpeng, secretary of the Party Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced at the conference. According to statistics, the size of the Chinese robot market reached US$4.25 billion in the first half of 2019.

The "Report" shows that in 2019, the size of the Chinese robot market is expected to reach 8.68 billion US dollars, and the average growth rate from 2014 to 2019 is 20.9%. Among them, industrial robots are 5.73 billion US dollars, service robots are 2.2 billion US dollars, and special robots are 750 million US dollars.

"At present, China's robot market has entered a period of rapid growth. Industrial robots have become the world's largest application market for seven consecutive years. The demand potential of service robots is huge, and the application scenarios of special robots have expanded significantly." The Report pointed out.

Taking the service robot field as an example, with the rapid expansion of the market scale, service robots have become a bright spot in the application of the robot market.

It is estimated that the service robot market in China increased by 33.1% year-on-year in 2019, which is higher than the growth rate of the global service robot market. By 2021, with the rapid development of robots such as parking robots and supermarket robots, the size of the Chinese service robot market is expected to reach nearly $4 billion.

From the perspective of special robots, the current special robot market in China has maintained rapid development, and various types of products have emerged. In response to earthquakes, floods and extreme weather, as well as mine safety, fire, security and other public safety practices, there is also a prominent demand for special robots.

"The creative capabilities of new materials, core components, main control chip operating systems, and self-learning and collaborative control algorithms have become the core elements and professional direction of global competition in the field of robotics." Huai Jinpeng said at the conference. .

"At present, China has made breakthroughs in the key core technologies of robots as an important strategy for the development of science and technology. Domestic manufacturers have overcome some of the problems in the key core components such as reducers, servo controls, and servo motors. The trend of localization of core components has gradually emerged." The report believes that the Chinese robot industry has made positive progress in key technological breakthroughs.
